Spring Awakening 2014 Photos and Highlights
This year's Spring Awakening Arts Exhibition was a success! Freddy Rodriguez won first place for Visual Art, Marlenee Garcia won second place , and Andarith Hurtado won 3rd! Over 20 works of art were sold in the silent auction. Parents donated delicious food and raised over $100 for the Fine Arts Department! Voice of Solorio sang beautifully, Guitarras Classicas put on a great show, and Ballroom Club performed a fox trot! Ap Art student Denise Abarca showed off her amazing clothing designs in the student fashion show and Jazz band rocked the night with their finale! Thank you for coming out and supporting the arts at Solorio! The artist Edward Degas said, “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” We all saw the talent our students posses and how they can contribute to the culture and beauty of the arts at Solorio and their community!
Three of our AP Art students (Jackie Hernandez, Francsico Soto, Vince Garcia) and one student from Digital Photography/Design (Ruben Portales) have been chosen to show their artwork for the Illinois Regional Art Exhibition at the Zhou B Art Center Sunday March 1st! Spring Awakening 2015
Another great event with amazing performances by our Music Department and Ballroom Club! This year's Student Art Demos were a hit! Several people walked away with new techniques and artwork they created with the help and instruction of our talented students. There were demos from Splatter Art to Digital Design and all with their own artistic flair. The Visual Art Exhibition got the attention of several buyers this year and made the silent auction one of the best so far! Check out some pictures from the event below:
